What is IATA ONE Order?

IATA ONE Order is an industry initiative to replace the PNR, e-ticket and EMD with a single customer order record held by the airline, simplifying booking, delivery and accounting.

Today an airline booking spreads across several records: a PNR for the reservation, electronic tickets for flights and EMDs for extras. Each has its own lifecycle and accounting rules. ONE Order proposes one order that describes everything the customer bought and its status.

Why it matters

A single order simplifies servicing (changes, refunds, disruption), revenue accounting and the sale of non-flight products. It is the natural endpoint of the offers-and-orders model introduced by NDC.

Adoption reality

ONE Order requires changes across airlines, sellers, settlement systems and ground handling, so adoption is gradual. Platforms built today should model bookings as orders with items and states internally, even when the supplier underneath still issues tickets — that keeps the transition a data-mapping exercise rather than a rewrite.
