What is a bedbank?
A bedbank is a hotel wholesaler that contracts room inventory with many hotels and distributes it, usually at net rates, to travel agencies, OTAs and tour operators through an API.
Bedbanks aggregate hotels that might otherwise be hard to reach and package them with a single contract and a single API. Sellers add their own markup to the net rate.
Integration challenges
Hotel content is messier than flight content. Each bedbank uses its own hotel IDs, room names and board types, so the same room can appear many times with different descriptions. Platforms need hotel content mapping to deduplicate, and careful handling of cancellation policies, rate types and price re-checks before booking.
